Roles

Updated: 3 January 2026

Every player on HSR has a role that defines their status and permissions on the server. Most players hold the Player role, while special roles like Developer or Ambassador come with additional responsibilities.

Quick Overview

The New role represents a player who has registered with HSR, applied, and been onboarded into the system. They are whitelisted and ready to join the server.

However, they have not yet ever joined the server. Once they join for the first time, they automatically become a Player.

This is the default role for all people who have joined the server. Players are registered with HSR's systems and have agreed to follow all rules and terms of service.

As a Player, you can participate in all server activities, build, trade, vote in elections, and be part of the HSR community.

Alts are secondary accounts that must be manually added and approved by admins or developers. You can request to add an alt on the HSR Discord server.

Alt Restrictions

Alts must abide by all player rules, with additional limits:

  • Alts can be used for AFKing and non-community engaging tasks. Do not use them for general gameplay.
  • You may talk in chat, though please limit this to rare circumstances.
  • You cannot bid, pay, receive pix, or participate in the economy in any way as an alt.

⚠️ Punishment Warning

If your alt gets banned, so does your main account. Punishments flow through all linked accounts.

Tip: Profiling an alt reveals their linked account, school, and role.

The Developer role is an exclusive role given to those who are part of the development team. They are led by the Secretary of Development and work on ways to improve the server.

Developer Work

  • Coding plugins and server features
  • Designing events and artwork
  • Writing documentation
  • Anything else approved by the Secretary of Development

Permissions & Limits

Developers have access to multiple aspects of HSR systems. They may act as Admins/Ambassadors when it comes to restoring builds, punishing players, or managing roles.

  • Developers do not have operator access ("op") on the main server
  • They may have op on event servers
  • Developers must agree to respect server limits and guidelines
  • Using developer abilities for in-game advantages is prohibited

Voting Power

All developers and admins combined have one point in executive votes.

Want to apply? There is currently no streamlined application process. If you wish to apply, contact Wildere on Discord.

The Ambassador is both a player role and a government role. Ambassadors represent the player base and their school within the HSR community.

How Ambassadors Are Determined

The number of ambassadors per school is determined using a sophisticated algorithm. For a school to have ambassador representation:

  • The school must have a minimum of 4 players
  • For every four players a school has, one ambassador may be elected
  • This ratio is subject to change

Three Core Responsibilities

Moderate

Maintain the community and ensure safe, fun experiences. Ambassadors have ban, mute, timeout, and pardon permissions across HSR systems, including Discord.

Recruit

Recruit players from their school to join HSR. Methods include bulletin boards, email lists, and personal invitations.

Connect

Serve as the connection between HSR and their school. They may be the Initial Ambassador who first established the school's presence on HSR.

Ambassadors can be demoted at any time by the Executive Council.

Learn more about Ambassadors in governance on the Government page.

An Administrator, or Admin, is a developer of the server who administrates and manages all systems. They report directly to the owner and work with the Development branch to improve and manage the server.

Voting Power

All developers and admins combined have one point in executive votes.

HSR is not currently open to applications for Admin.

The Loyal role is currently not in use. It may be implemented in future updates to recognize dedicated long-term players.
